About Checked traffic
Checked is a quality assurance service. Its customers use it to scan their websites for broken links and problems, test their APIs, and load test their own systems. If you see our traffic, a Checked customer pointed a test at your site.
How to recognise it
What it does
The site scanner crawls pages it finds through links and the sitemap, a few at a time, and backs off when a site answers 429. It checks that pages and links work and reads their HTML. It does not submit forms or log in unless the site owner configured it to.
The load tester sends many requests on purpose to measure how a system behaves under load. Large load tests are only allowed against domains the customer has proved they control, and every test stops by itself if most requests are refused.
Allow it or block it
To allow a test you are running, add the source addresses above to your firewall, CDN and rate limiter allowlists for the duration of the test. The Load page in Checked has ready-made rules for Cloudflare, nginx and AWS WAF.
To block our traffic, deny the source addresses or the User-Agents above. We never rotate addresses or disguise our traffic to get around a block.
Questions or a test you did not expect? Contact support with the time and, if you have it, the X-Checked-Load-Test value.
